Once upon a time, a group of friends bought a used 26′ Class C RV. We discovered that we loved camping in the RV, but the class C was too big for our weekend trips and it was scary to drive in the snow or on dirt roads. We began to search for a more modern camper van solution. Our research determined that the Ford Transit was the best RV platform, but traditional RV manufacturers were stuck on Promaster and Sprinter vans and had no interest in building a Camper Van with a Popup top that is easy to drive and park. Being engineers and scientists, we decided to build our own. Our friends love our ModVan prototype, so we launced a business around the concept of a modern camper van.
